Our community’s institutions should truly belong to our community members. The strength of our institutions can be measured by the trust that our members place in them. The World Federation and its regional bodies are voluntary organisations, existing only to serve the community and through this Allah (swt). These organisations belong not to individuals but to all the people – all our community members. We need every single community member in every corner of the world to feel a part of The World Federation and its regional bodies. Regardless of their age, location, gender or social background.
It is my dream, my hope and my goal that we can cultivate The World Federation to be a more valued and trusted organisation. I want our community members to feel connected to the organisation. I want our community members to be able to trust the leadership and management of our organisations. And I want to engage all of our community. To find out their needs and work actively to address them. To begin a process of dialogue and constant communication with our brothers and sisters. I want The World Federation to be an organisation which is grounded in and not detached from the everyday realities our community members face.
Let us make our organisations more transparent and accountable. Let us act with integrity and humility. Let us work with people from all backgrounds and perspectives and not just to surround themselves with ‘yes men’. And let us move beyond political differences and work with all parties for the greater good of our community.
This is an essential understanding for our leaders and a theme which I will advocate if I am blessed with the opportunity to become President of The World Federation.

|2009-05-15 00:27:57 R Ladha - Well done Ahmedbhai/Yassinbhai and team. Look forwWhile we look forward to new candidates, with strong one in Munarwarbhai, we thank the previous office bearers for their efforts and we have watched them (Ahmedbhai Hassam, Yasin Rahim and team) working tirelessly.
I have no doubt Munawarbhai will IA be an excellent leader capable of taking us forward with big strides.
We now need to look at our community and see how we can help one another economically, while working hard for the spiritual well being. We must not forget the fact that our organisations have every now and then been needed for our survival while forced out of homes and countries. Macro finance, credit unions, remote training by Aalims training (using WeBex, Huddle etc.) over the net and many others could be areas we need to look at. Of course Munawarbhai has set the ball rolling by asking the community to contribute with ideas and time/resources which I hope many will come forward to help.
Wish you all the best.
