We live in tough financial times. With a global economic crisis ongoing, addressing the economic needs of our community is more important than ever.
When I look into our communities, I see families who are struggling to make ends meet, I see established business men, despondently walking away having closed their businesses, and I see faces burdened with economic worry.
I feel saddened by this and believe it is our duty to care and to assist, to facilitate and to work together to develop the resources in our tremendously talented community. We need to find ways of furthering business and enterprise skills amongst all, so that as a community, we are economically and financially sturdy.
Times are indeed tough, but a strong footing in business and enterprise is crucial for progress and prosperity of our community and we must not shy away from doing this for the good of all.
That is why I pledge to...
- Develop an international economic advisory council
- Facilitate collective investment schemes
- Hold economic forums at Executive Council meetings to ensure our leadership is well briefed on economic matters
- Liaise with our community business organisations to identify where we can work in partnership.
