It's deeply disturbing to see our members of our community in the developing world plagued by poverty. Some have spent years living in an environment of malnutrition and disease. We have to act and urgently prevent such suffering.
It's deeply disturbing to see our members of our community in the developing world plagued by poverty. Some have spent years living in an environment of malnutrition and disease. We have to act and urgently prevent such suffering.Furthering the current medical and health work of The World Federation is essential and we need to particularly focus on primary healthcare in the developing world. There is already wonderful work ongoing - for example in the setting up of self-funding schemes like health centres and eye clinics. But as ever, much more can be done.
I want to promote the well-being of our global community in every way - be it spirituality, socially or physically. That's why I believe it's important to promote a community which not only cares about the healthcare of its members - but does it's ultimate to promote health.
Put simply, prevention is better than cure. We need to work hard throughout the world particularly in developing countries to being about a public health agenda throughout our community.
It's an urgent task - one that needs real action and not just words. So here are five deliverable ideas I'm pledging to achieve...
1. To promote health education throughout the world and further prevention techniques like screening and early warnings.
2. To deliver greater vaccination and immunisation programmes.
3. To improve the community's health facilities throughout the world
4. To create new eye clinics and health centres in partnership with the regions
5. And finally to create a Zainabiyya Health Strategy for children being educated under the Zainabiyya Child Sponsorship Scheme.
