The form of charity that God loves is peace-making among the people when they get corrupted, and making them closer to each other when they get disunited
Imam Jaffer as-Sadiq, a.s.
There are many who feel critical towards the leadership of our community especially because of empty promises. I have heard this often on my travels worldwide and I want to change this to create greater harmony in our community.
Great work does occur in our Jamaats worldwide but this is rarely communicated. Our Jamaats and our people remain unaware of the good that is happening. We must begin to share more of our ideas so that we learn from each other and develop together.
I want to create a truly representative organisation. One that listens and learns from mistakes.
By 2012 I pledge to ...
- • Complete a worldwide census in partnership with our regions so that we know more about our people’s needs.
- • Form a foundation fund so that we can reduce administration costs of our institution which has been an obstacle for so many.
- • Work with all those in our community who run charities to create partnership and to reduce duplication.
- • Publicise a detailed study of the Khoja Shi’a heritage to maximise our understanding of culture.
- • Ensure the work of all of our community is showcased more effectively – for example through a revamped website,
- community magazines etc.
- • Take part in an open conference call once a month where any community member can dial in and discuss issues with the office bearers.
