The last 3 years have been more talked about because of the 2006 changes at The World Federation. This is where, the Boards and Desks of The World Federation were disbanded and instead the Assistant Secretary General ("ASG") structure was created.
This structure has had mixed success and I have given you my thoughts on how to improve it in the last question and answer series.
I do feel, that there has been two main achievements in the last 3 years:
(1) the establishment of the Islamic Institute of Postgraduate Studies in Syria and
(2) gaining the NGO status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations.
Both of these give us big opportunities to develop our community further.
I also feel that much more can be done. I have laid out my thoughts on what is needed in the short term - through the 99 pledges of my manifesto. In particular, we need to make sure the organisation is more inclusive with greater input from many communities around the world (and to make the organisation less Euro-centric).
In addition, the organisation must demonstrate much greater openness and aim for higher levels of transparency.
